Alright. So as you all should know, I'm a massive Twilight fangirl. Yes, it's true *sigh*
So you should understand how excited I am about... Twilight: The Movie!!! OMGEEEEE!!
So for you sad few out there who haven't read Twilight (shame on you), I'll fill you in on the details of the movie. Plus, I just like rambling about it ^_^
The Production Team:
Director- Catherine Harkwicke. She's directed the Nativity Story, Lords of Dogtown and Thirteen, not to mention all the other jobs she's done in other fantastic movies. She's a great choice XD
Writer- Melissa Rosenberg. Wrote Step Up, and billions of TV episodes which include The OC and Dexter. She's totally awesome ^_^
Producers- Jamie Marshall, Greg Mooradian, Mark Morgan and Karen Rosenfelt. Amongst the four of them they have credits such as The Legend of Zorro, Mission Impossible 3, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, The Wedding Planner, Agent Cody Banks, Material Girls and the Devil Wears Prada. It may seem like a long list, but believe me I could've gone on forever!
Art Director- Christopher Brown. He's done the Art Directing for Troy, too.
Casting Directors- Deborah Aquila and Mary Tricia Wood. They've done movies such as Underworld: Evolution, Diehard 4.0, Disturbia, Evan Almighty and You, Me and Dupree. These guys are awesome, and have done a great job so far, which leads me on to...
The Cast!!! (so far ^_^)
EDWARD CULLEN- Robert Pattison (you may know him as Cedric Diggory from HP) Here's a picture of him
[link]
The news of his casting has only been released TODAY, so this is big news. Although Robert's only starred in one major movie (HP), I think he'll be brilliant as Edward! I never really considered him as a candidate for the role, but now that I think about it, he is simply perfect. Here's what Stephenie Meyer has to say on the choice of Robert Pattison:
" I want you to know that I am really very pleased about this choice. Robert hasn't been one of the popular fan choices whose faces pop up on my comments page all the time, so I'd never really thought about him in the role before. When I got the news, it took me a little while to consider it (like a lot of you, I was pretty attached to the first person I'd cast in my head as Edward, so I had to readjust for a minute). I looked at all the pictures I could find, finally got around to watching HP4 (which I own, but had never seen before), and I read through the script picturing Robert in the role.
By the time I was done with my research (writing: a line of work where you can legitimately call drooling over hot boys "research."), I was kind of shocked that I'd never considered Robert before. Aside from my dearest Henry, Robert is truly the first person I've pictured in the role who I think can pull it off. The boy just looks like a vampire.
Also, I hear very encouraging things from the people who watched his auditions. They've been at this for months now, you know, reading Edward hopefuls day after day. Robert knocked their socks off; once he read for the part, the search was over. In other good news, apparently there is excellent chemistry between Robert and Kristen (they have all the major actors read together to make sure they fit), his American accent is flawless, AND he's read all three novels!
So YAY! for Robert Pattinson! "
BELLA SWAN- Kristin Stewart. Picture here

Kristin starred in Panic Room, In The Land of Women, The Messengers, Zathura, Speak, Fierce People, Catch That Kid, Undertow, Cold Creek Manor and The Safety of Objects. Just like with Robert Pattison, I never considered her as a possible candidate for the role, but I believe she'll do brilliantly. I've seen quite a few of her movies, and I reckon she can pull it off. Btw, if you're one of those so called fans who are judging her on her appearance rather than her acting ability, then get lost. It's Hollywood people, I'm sure they can dye her hair the right colour, for god's sakes! Here's what Stephenie has to say about Kristin:
" Here's my two cents: I really like her. She doesn't look exactly how I pictured Bella, but neither does anyone else. (In fact, if someone showed up who DID look EXACTLY like I imagined Bella, I'd be pretty creeped out.) (Also, when people say, "She's doesn't look like Bella" what I hear is "She doesn't look like ME! I want to be Bella!" Which is cool. I want to be Bella, too.) The main thing in this case, and in every other actor cast for the movie, is that she can act. I have faith that she can make me believe she's Bella when it counts.
So far, Summit Films has be incredible to me. The director, Catherine Hardwicke, is fantastic. She really gets Twilight. And she even listens to all my crazy casting suggestions. I trust her to pick the best actors available to us (since we can't use real vampires).
I'm all excited at how fast things are moving along now! And I'm excited to have such a great Bella. "
And that is all I have to say at this moment. But I'll rant again as soon as someone else is cast for the movie XD
